Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the Alfred Music family of composers. We welcome unsolicited submissions from anyone, and extend a special invitation to writers from underrepresented groups. The relationships we build with our authors and composers are very important to us, and we are always pleased to expand our circle of collaborators. Alfred Music does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, marital status, or political affiliation.

Please begin the submission process by reviewing our most recent releases to ensure that your creative work is targeted to our audience and in alignment with our catalog. Review the specific guidelines below to get a better understanding of what we’re looking for in each area.

The review process can take a considerable amount of time, so please be patient in awaiting a response. Each submission is evaluated for marketability and suitability in our catalog. There are a limited number of titles published in various categories each year, and many factors go into determining which pieces will be accepted. While we cannot provide specific feedback for pieces that do not move forward for publication, please rest assured that every submission is carefully and thoughtfully considered. If your submission is not accepted for publication, don't lose hope—we encourage you to submit other pieces in the future.

Placement is an editorial decision based on many factors. All pieces will be considered for all catalogs (Alfred, Belwin, etc).
