Provide opportunities for deliberate practice with availability in SmartMusic. As students play along with music onscreen, SmartMusic gives students immediate feedback on their performance by showing correct pitches and rhythms in green and incorrect in red. Plus, with new polyphonic technology created specifically for guitar, SmartMusic can identify chords and provide instant feedback.

Included are many performance opportunities such as solos, duets, trios, and full-ensemble arrangements. Students can play along with a friend or the professional musician on the included accompaniment tracks, promoting home practice sessions. This serves as an outstanding introduction to ensemble playing, allowing the students to experience picking individual notes, playing a bass line, or playing a chord accompaniment. A variety of musical styles are including, aiding in keeping the students interested in practicing.

Appendices are a resource for both the teacher and student, and include all of the basic information about playing, including guitar bod types, holding the guitar, technique, picking, warm-ups, reading music and TAB notation, a chord chart, and more.

Real-world guitar skills are taught so that students can play right away, encouraging more long-lasting dedication to the instrument.

Notes are taught beginning on the low E string:

  • Encourages solid left- and right-hand technique
  • Promotes fretboard understanding through sequential introduction of notes from low to high
  • Provides immediate introduction of guitar chords from the root tone
  • Allows students to begin playing fundamental bass-line type rock and blues patterns right away

Foster more effective practice with MasterClass video and audio tracks that are integrated throughout the entire the method, not retrofitted to it. MasterClasses allow the student can learn to emulate the teacher’s tone, technique, and musicianship.
